      WHO WE ARE

Who we are

Established in May 2021, Young UK Today is the realisation of a vision by a dedicated team of proven and passionate care professionals with nearly two decades of expertise in their chosen field of work. With a remarkable history of empowering the most vulnerable children and young people, our founders and management team have been champions of positive change in the lives of those facing emotional and behavioural difficulties and complex needs.

What we believe

At Young UK Today, our ethos is based on the belief that all children and young people should be given the same opportunities in life regardless of their experiences. We believe in line with Social Pedagogy principles that every person possesses unique inner resources and potential; through creating learning opportunities in the every day, everyone can recognise their own qualities, strengths and interests as well as experiencing their own resourcefulness and developing new abilities.

What we do

Dove Tree House is Young UK Today's first home and is situated in the heart of Canterbury, proudly offering care and support to 5 children and young people aged between 8 - 17 years old. We provide safe, holistic and nurturing care to all of our children and young people and we support and encourage them to achieve their ambitions. Building self-esteem must always be a priority, and this is why we use a Social Pedagogy approach to build meaningful and authentic relationships.

WHAT WE DO

This is how we empower every child to thrive

Personalised support

We tailor our care and support plans to meet the unique needs of each child, ensuring they receive the guidance and resources necessary to overcome challenges and reach their potential

Building confidence

Through positive reinforcement, skill building activities, and celebrating achievements, we help children develop self-belief and the resilience to face life's challenges

Fostering independence

We encourage and teach life skills, promoting independence and responsibility, empowering children to make informed decisions and take ownership of their futures

Creating safe, nurturing spaces

By providing a safe and emotionally supportive environment, we give children the freedom to express themselves, build trust and thrive without fear of judgement

Encouraging growth through relationships

We prioritise strong, positive relationships with carers, peers and the wider community through Social Pedagogy, helping children develop strong social skills, empathy and a sense of belonging

Our Values

Compassion

We are committed to providing a caring and empathetic environment where every child feels valued, heard and supported

We believe in creating a welcoming, diverse community where all children, regardless of their background or challenges are respected and encouraged to participate

Inclusivity

We prioritise the physical and emotional safety of every child, ensuring a secure and nurturing space where they can health, explore and reach their full potential

Safety

We aim to inspire confidence and self-belief in each child by providing guidance, skills and opportunities they need to overcome challenges and achieve their goals

Empowerment

Collaboration

We work closely with children, families, and professionals to build strong, supportive relationships, ensuring a holistic approach to each child's care and development
